Lyme Disease Home > About Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is transmitted through the bite of a tick that is infected with Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria. Symptoms typically include a rash, fever, and fatigue, among other things. A healthcare provider will often make a diagnosis based on symptoms alone, but in some cases, laboratory tests will be used. Treatment usually involves antibiotics.
